What Is the Tesla Powerwall 3 Rebate Scheme?
The rebate is part of Tesla's Next Million Powerwall campaign, launched to mark the milestone of one million Powerwall units installed worldwide. Tesla is offering a direct cashback reward to UK homeowners who purchase and install a Powerwall 3 or Powerwall 3 Expansion Pack during the promotional window. It is not a discount applied at the point of sale. You pay the standard installed price, the system gets fitted and commissioned, and once everything is registered and approved, Tesla sends you money back as a Virtual Prepaid Visa Rewards Gift Card via email.

The registration deadline of 30 June 2026 is separate from the installation deadline of 31 August 2026. You need to register your intent to claim before the end of June, even if your installation is scheduled for July or August.

Claim Process

1. Get a Quote
Get a quote from a Tesla Certified Installer. Princes LHS LTD can design, supply and install your qualifying system.
2. Sign Your Contract
The contract date must fall between 1 December 2025 and 30 June 2026.
3. Installation
Your installer fits the Powerwall, connects it to your home's electrical system and commissions it in your Tesla app.
4. Register Online
Register on the Tesla rebate portal before 30 June 2026 using your Tesla account and installation documents.
5. Submit Final Documents
After installation, upload any final documents Tesla requests, such as serial numbers or commissioning photos.
6. Receive Reward Card
Once approved, your Virtual Visa Reward Card is sent by email. This usually takes between a few weeks and ten weeks.
Payback Period
Common Reasons Claims Are Rejected
The payback period depends on the fuel being replaced, energy prices, and whether a lower-cost electricity tariff is used.
Non-Certified Installer
There is no workaround. If the installer is not Tesla certified, the claim will not be approved.
Missed Registration Deadline
The 30 June 2026 registration deadline is firm, even if installation happens before 31 August 2026.
System Not Linked
If commissioning is not completed properly, the portal has no way to verify the installation.
Wrong Contract Date
A purchase agreement dated outside the eligible window will not qualify.

Can I claim the rebate if I already have solar panels?
Yes. The rebate applies to the Powerwall 3 itself, not to a combined solar and battery package. You can add a Powerwall 3 to an existing solar installation and still qualify, provided you use a certified installer and meet all the other conditions.
Is the Virtual Visa Reward Card the same as cash?
It is a prepaid Visa card delivered by email. It can be used anywhere Visa is accepted, including online retailers. It is not a bank transfer or cheque, and it will have an expiry date.
Can I get the rebate on a Powerwall 2?
No. The scheme only applies to Powerwall 3 and Powerwall 3 Expansion units.
What if my installer goes out of business before I register?
Contact Tesla directly via its rebate support channel. Tesla has a support process for situations where the installer is no longer available to assist.
Does the 0% VAT relief apply alongside the rebate?
Yes. The zero-rate VAT on qualifying energy storage installations is a separate relief from the Tesla rebate. Both can apply to the same installation.
Is there a limit on how many Powerwalls I can register?
The cashback is capped at £750 per address and per Tesla account. Installing more than two units does not increase the rebate.
